This is just an introductory post; I really don’t have the energy to write anything too deep. That’s what happens when you’re a procrastinating sophomore in college with the Headache of Doom. Anyway, as I’m sure you saw in the About page, this blog is about my life as a mentally ill, liberal Christian student at a conservative Baptist university. To those of who say that one must be mentally ill in order to want to attend a conservative Baptist university, I reply: Yes, probably. Mentally ill or desparate for the full scholarship. But either way, here I am.

There aren’t too many people like me at this school. I should be used to being the odd one out. That’s how the title of this blog came about, actually. I was expelled from Christian high school for being a disturbing influence. That was the only explanation my family was given. I was a disturbing influence, and I had to go. The fact that I had no demerits was secondary to the glaring reality of my mental illness. Good Christians just don’t get depressed. Bullshit, of course. I don’t think Jesus sweat blood because He was happy. This is just my opinion, of course, and opinions count for shit (says the woman with a blog).

So that’s it. This is the story of the person behind the diagnosis, the life of the girl behind the reputation. Read if you want; piss off if you don’t. I don’t have the time or patience to deal with people who drop by long enough to make a bitchy comment, then leave. I’d prefer it if you interacted with me. I don’t bite, despite what some people may think. I hope I’ll see you around.
